You will be appointed at PO2 grade and expected to take the lead on number of cases; you will have junior staff to support you and you will report to the Licensing Inspection Team Manager.

These are exciting job opportunities offering the chance to join a very active team working on major licensing schemes – mandatory and selective. They have approximately 30,000 rented properties in the Borough and they have a major recruitment drive across the team as they significantly step up their activity. You have an excellent opportunity to take a really positive career step and to join one of the most active programmes in London at an early stage allowing you to make a significant contribution to the service.

You will have a key role in large team of 25 Officers and on a daily basis you will be managing a variety of case files. You will make full use of your previous experience in this field to organise and co-ordinate investigative work, provide guidance on intelligence gathering and have full involvement with enforcement related work. You can expect to be working as part of a multi-agency team including the Police, HMRC and Border Control.

Our client is looking for those with previous experience, and experience, degree qualified Environmental Health Officer or a Housing Standards Officer who can demonstrate significant experience of HMO licensing and enforcement work. In both cases they will expect you hold the HHSRS qualification.

You will need to be confident in your communication skills, able to work well under pressure and in difficult situations and be focused on delivering a busy schedule of work. You may be required to work outside routine office hours carrying our monitoring and re-inspection visits so you will need to be happy with this aspect of the role.
