Full Description

Our client based in South London is looking to appoint a Commissioning Manager to lead the CCGs strategic commissioning arrangements for NHS Continuing Healthcare and Funded Nursing Care, in respect of policy, strategy, and commissioning of care services. This will include ensuring that there are robust contractual arrangements; quality monitoring and efficiency programmes are in place

The role will require wide ranging knowledge and experience of cooperative commissioning, codesign, co-production with high level of skill in community engagement, partnership working, stakeholder management and understanding of working in a political environment. The role will also require proven ability to undertake research and critical analysis of data and information, options design and appraisal, as well as service improvement, monitoring and evaluation.

Key areas of responsibility:

1. To manage the CCG’s strategic commissioning arrangements for the provision of specialist palliative care and End of Life Care services, in line with national and local guidance and recommendations.

2. To ensure that all SLAs for related areas of responsibility are tightly performance monitored, including budgetary, in line with relevant CCG strategies, ensuring that any remedial action required compensating under/over performance is implemented in a timely manner

3. To contribute to the management and delivery of the CCG’s strategic commissioning arrangements for older adults, and delivery of the CCG’s strategic commissioning plan.

4. To work collaboratively with local authority colleagues maximising the potential for joint working and commissioning and leading in agreed areas of work for both the CCG and the council.

5. To deputise for the Assistant Director Older Adults as required

For this assignment you will ideally have experience of developing policies and procedures in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders including internal councils departments, statutory agencies, voluntary sector providers and service users.

This assignment is for an initial period of 3 months with a likely extension thereafter and the pay rate is £450/day umbrella. If you have Commissioning experience in the relative field and are looking for an exciting new role then please get in touch.
