Commissioning Manager - Holiday Activities and Food Programme

This role will be a maternity cover post lasting for at least 6 months from the end of July through to late January 2022.

Our client requires a Commissioning Manager with a background within youth management or childcare management and running holiday provision provisions. You will lead on various work streams in conjunction with the allocation of just over £1m to be used to provide access to holiday activity programmes. The objective is to provide least 4 hours for 4 days a week for 4 weeks over the Summer holidays, and a week at Easter and Christmas, to all Free School Meal children of statutory school age.

You will have a vital role to play in ensuring this objective can be met efficiently by developing appropriate relationships with third parties and implementing policy and procedure to ensure successful commissioning and delivery.

You will report to the Head of Participation, Opportunity and Wellbeing within the Education service block of the Council. In addition, you will be supported and governed by a steering group already in place that is made up of key stakeholders including early help services, the borough's principal school caterer, schools, and the voluntary and community sector. Administrative support will also be in place to support implementation, and monitoring.

Previous experience in a similar capacity is essential and you will need to be a confident communicator with the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload.

Our client is based in East London although you will likely be able to work from home most of the time. The rate will be £31.28/hr (umbrella).
