The successful management of waste and effective maintenance of clean and green public spaces present significant challenges in a densely populated and growing urban environment. The Commercial Waste and Enforcement team has been created to develop a more commercial approach to growing our portfolio of businesses using council waste collection services and to established greater control over the cleanliness of our town centres and business areas.
The council has ambitious plans to be the market leader is waste collection services throughout the borough. This role will be responsible for developing an effective sales and marketing strategy that will deliver our ambitions.
The post holder will lead on reviewing existing service delivery models, pricing structures and promotional materials and activities with a view to growing market share and turnover. They will develop strategies to manage business compliance and the reduction of fly tipping across the borough through the effective targeting of resources and awareness raising.
You will have knowledge of the municipal waste management industry with sound experience of commercial waste business and waste regulations.
You will be required to demonstrate an organised approach to managing workloads and conflicting priorities, as well as a clear focus on delivering results, through effective strategies and plans.
You will be managing a team of dedicated and committed staff and will be expected to show strong leadership skills. Excellent communication skills and a committed approach to collaborative working is essential.
You will be managing u to 10 members of staff, Overseeing review of debt recovery processes, developing and implementing a strong commercial waste sales strategy and completing domestic bulk bin audit and stabilising domestic bulk bin hire arrangements.
This role is 4 days per week and paying £380 per day.
