Excellent opportunity to join a busy Local Authority in London and take up a key support role in their Applications Processing and Local Land Charges Team.
As an Applications Processing Officer you will be involved with a range of administrative functions concerned with the processing of planning applications and building control applications including pre-applications, appeals, issuing of decision notices and undertaking searches of the Local Land Charges register.
Typically this will include receiving and logging applications, scanning and uploading onto the relevant database and validating applications to check for content and preparing documents to be used in planning committee meetings.
Other duties will include providing support and assistance to Planning Officers, Building Surveyors, Agents and Residents throughout the application process and dealing with inbound calls and providing advice to customers. On a day to day basis you will deal with a high volume of enquiries and you will help manage a busy flow of emails.
This role would be suited to a Graduate in Town Planning with recent experience within a similar role who is looking for their first career step and exposure to public sector town planning work or someone with good admin skills and previous experience within town planning and therefore a good understanding of the terminology and the planning application process.
The role is based in West London and will initially be offered for 3 months but could be extended beyond this. This is a hybrid working role, you will be required to work from the office 2 days a week.
