Our client is a Local Authority in East London and they are looking for 3 Planning Officers to join their Development Management Team for contract roles which will initially be offered as 7 month positions.
Your work will focus on managing a caseload of a range of householder and minor planning applications made under the Town and Country Planning Acts and related legislation, assessing whether proposals are in accordance with Council's policies and liaises with officers of other directorates on matters arising from planning. Dealing with a caseload of planning applications and you will be providing expert technical advice at every stage. On a daily basis you will be completing reports, carrying out site visits where required and representing the Council at committee.
To apply for this role you will need a good working knowledge of UK planning legislation and recent work experience within a Development Management team is essential (ideally you will have gained experience within a London Local Authority). You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format. A relevant town planning degree is required.
These roles will pay £25/hr (umbrella) and run for a minimum of 7 months so this is an excellent opportunity. Contact us for full details.
