Our client is a local authority based in Yorkshire and they require 2 qualified Town Planners to carry out roles within their Development Management Team. They are happy to consider Principal/Senior or Officer level Town Planners.
Both roles will examine and evaluate all types of planning applications made under the Town and Country Planning Acts and related legislation, provide pre-application advise, assess whether proposals are in accordance with Council's policies and liaises with officers of other directorates on matters arising from planning. Additionally you will assist with carrying out project briefs and feasibility studies in relation to regeneration and/or economic strategy work. The candidate at the Senior/Principal level will have the opportunity to work on Major applications.
Recent work experience is essential and ideally you will have gained experience within a Local Authority setting. Your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format.
These roles will initially be offered for 3 months but they will be on going rolling contracts and rates offered will depend on experience but will be between £20-£34/hr. These roles are inside IR35.
