Policy Manager sought for South East London council. Initial contract runs to end of March 2017 but is likely to be extended.
The purpose of the role is to be the Council's lead officer on all aspects of spatial planning particularly statutory development plans including preparation, monitoring, review and implementation of Local Development Frameworks (LDF), and to be the Council's lead officer for responding to national and regional planning policy proposals. Additionally you will lead, co-ordinate and manage the team undertaking policy work and provide comprehensive advice and professional support on the provision of planning policy.
You will adapt the planned delivery of services to ensure changing needs are met, monitor and review the service, and plan resources to meet changing operational needs.
Applicants should have expert knowledge of Town and Country Planning Acts, Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act, Government Planning Policy Guidance and Regulations and Local Development Framework regime.
Experience of working in a London authority is desirable.
