Full Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen to work for a luxury homes developer in Surrey. In this role you will be reporting to the Head of Land and Planning and assisting the Development Manager and Managing Director when required.

Role specifics

This role requires a good understanding of planning policy requirements and the financial implications of specific policies such as affordable housing, s106 contributions and CIL.

In this position, the successful candidate will monitor Councils’ emerging development plans for the company’s core business areas and instruct planning consultants to make appropriate representations, to support the business interests in a given administrative area. You will be responsible for maintaining an in-depth understanding of the Five Year Housing Land Supply Position of key Local Planning Authorities.

In addition, you will take the lead role in obtaining planning permission for the company’s residential and mixed use schemes through the management of sites throughout the planning process.  This involves the initial appointment of architects and other consultants to produce the required application material, pre-application meetings with planning officers, submission of applications, negotiation with officers once a scheme is submitted - and the eventual discharge of planning conditions if consent is achieved.

Role requirements

The company is looking for an experienced individual who has worked for a housebuilder or planning consultancy. Ideally you will have some experience working within London boroughs though this is not essential; experience on high density developments will be key.

The candidate will preferably be MRTPI qualified or working towards appropriate chartered status and have a current full UK driving license and own or have permanent use of a car.

There is the opportunity for the right candidate to develop their role, through close working with other staff to expand their involvement in the land acquisition process.

Reward:

You'll be offered a remuneration package between £45,000 - £55,000 per annum for this role, depending on experience. This is a great opportunity for a professional, who is looking to progress their career within a client-side role. The company regularly reward staff through pay rises and promotions.
