Our client, a Local Authority based in East Anglia require 2 DM Planning Officers to join them ASAP. They are looking for a Senior Planning Officer who is capable of manging a caseload of major planning applications and a Planning Officer to manage a caseload of minor planning applications. They are not necessarily looking for a high level of experience for the Planning Officer and will consider those who can show good knowledge of the UK planning system and current planning legislation alongside recent experience of processing planning applications. For the Senior Planner they will need someone who is experienced with managing a caseload of major planning applications and has worked in a local authority.
To apply for these role you will need an excellent working knowledge of UK planning legislation. You will need good stakeholder engagement skills and an understanding of the context of planning policy on development projects. You must be able to work well under pressure and have the ability to manage a large and varied caseload of applications.
Our client will pay around £18-£24 p/hr depending on experience for the Planning Officer and £25 - £30p/hr for the Senior Planning Officer. Initially these contracts will be offered for 3 - 6 months, but could be extended due to the workload our client has.
