Contract Type

Location
London (SE)

Full Description

Our client, in South London, are looking for two Environmental Health Officers to undertake Food Inspections for Hygiene risk categories C, D & E plus some unrated. As some of these will need a food standards inspection ideally at the same time our preference would be contractors that are legally able to undertake both functions - should the contractor only be able to offer ability to undertake Food Hygiene inspections this would not stop us considering them (a matter of essential and desirable).

The two Officers would have over 1400 inspections (650 Cs, 600 Ds, 180 Es and some 300 un-rateds) split between the two of them and they would have to be completed by 28th Feb 2017 but sooner if possible.

There would be no data input but you would need to provide the completed paperwork etc. and drop into the office weekly. The Local Authority only have limited capacity for inputting inspections etc. so cannot accommodate more than approx. 25/30 inspections per week - hence the 9/10 month contract.

You would not be expected to undertake any enforcement work but would need detailed notes for officers to revisit / serve notice where applicable and if a situation was discovered by you where closure or prohibition was required for you to stay on the premises until a member of the team arrived to take over. (As you may be asked to provide a witness statement).

To apply you will need to be a food competent Officer, qualified to inspect the category of premises mentioned; previous local authority experience is essential. We will need evidence of your qualifications and CPD record as well as your competencies in line with the FSA competency framework.
