Full Description

Excellent opportunity to secure a role which will see you leading on a number of our client's key planning projects. Working within their Estates and Facilities department and reporting to the Capital Projects and Planning Manager you will be helping manage an infrastructure development programme, providing expert planning advice in relation to existing property holdings and insight into the implications of future planned development. Your role will be critical to ensuring funding is spent effectively and projects can be delivered as planned and as required to meet the demands of our client and their infrastructure requirements.

The role will require you to think strategically and you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and reviewing plans across all of our client's operational areas in order to address their impacts and to ensure they meet Local Authority information requirements with regard to development management. You will be required to monitor Community Infrastructure Levy activity, planned growth and submitted planning applications and take the lead in negotiating terms. Where required you will represent our client in any planning appeal cases.

To apply for this role you will need a relevant town planning degree alongside a significant amount of work experience within a local authority, planning consultancy or property development environment. You will need to have an excellent understanding of the planning process from end to end as well as good commercial acumen and the ability to identify commercial property opportunities. Stakeholder engagement is absolutely crucial in this role so you will need excellent communication skills with the ability to form good working relationships quickly. You will need to be able to work well under your own guidance as this role is fairly autonomous and you will be our client's main point of contact for all planning related matters.

This is a unique opportunity to secure a role that will offer a diverse range of experience that will help broaden your skill set and provide the chance to take on responsibility for a varied caseload of planning projects. Our client has offices across Sussex and Surrey and can offer some flexibility in terms of where you can be based.

The salary will be £42,069 to £45,960 and they offer an excellent benefits package.
