Central London-based, this practice has developed a first-class reputation and impressive portfolio of public and private sector clients. As such, an opportunity exists to expand their team with an experienced Senior - Associate Planner to step-up and take on more responsibility within a small, very profitable and expanding company.

Whilst sustaining and servicing new and existing clients on large-scale, complex projects throughout the UK, you will undertake a strategic role advising on the functional relationship between planning policies and development (although this is not a planning policy role role). Your project management and mix of public and private sector development control experience will also enable you to facilitate schemes from inception through to completion.

A commercial, experienced and motivated multi-disciplined planner from the private sector will hold the key attributes needed to succeed, although some public sector experience will certainly be viewed favourably.This may be the ideal role for someone currently working for a large property/planning consultancy that wants to work on less developer/financial institutional-based projects in favour of developments and projects for quality and practical need in the built environment.

Duties include;

Provision of high-level strategic planning advice, acting as main point of contact on large-scale projects.
Project Management and organisation (including appointment and management of external contractors).
Development appraisals (including site analysis, research and report writing), presentations.
Preparation, negotiation and submission of planning applications, representation at appeals.
Some management and guidance of a small team

Requirements;

Qualified Planner MRTPI/RICS P&D Grade 2:1 and above from a reputable institution
Minimum 6 years experience
Good Development Control (ideally private sector and some public) experience as well as excellent awareness of the way planning policies relate to development within the U.K. Property Industry.
Excellent written and report writing skills are essential and examples must be displayed at interview.
The ability to lead on projects, interfacing directly with clients on both strategic planning matters and management of project.

This consultancy has an exceptional working environment and benefits to match. Your career will be nurtured and your efforts rewarded.

Salary range - Circa £40k - £55k plus benefits
