Our South West authority client require a planning officer to work within a development control team within a defined geographical area so as to ensure a consistent approach to development in accordance with good professional practice.
To assess applications for planning permission, listed building consent and other related statutory consents and submit reports and recommendations to the Planning Committee or Principal Planning Officer/Planning Control Manager to ensure the control of development in accordance with National Guidance and the Council's planning policies where appropriate.
To write reports and make recommendations in order to ensure consistency and quality, compliance with statutory deadlines and timescales and procedural correctness.
Along with other requirements, this post is a 7 month contract.
