Businesses aiming to improve their environment and sustainability could use World Environment Day (WED) as a chance to create lasting policies.
According to Trewin Restorick, chief executive officer of Global Action Plan, firms should take the opportunity to establish plans to lower carbon emissions.
The UN's WED, which aims to become the biggest and most widely celebrated day for environmental action, is set to take place on June 5th.
Exploring opinions and attitudes to energy-efficient business methods by creating employee engagement in the issue could benefit a company's plans, Mr Restorick remarked.
He added: "We would recommend that people use WED as inspiration to kick start lasting change by setting up a green team at work or making small lifestyle changes at home."
The occasion, which was launched in 1972, is used as one of the UN's main tools to convey the message of the importance of environmental action.
