Investigators in trading standards jobs with East Riding of Yorkshire Council have helped to bring an internet fraudster to justice.
Gareth Raynor, formally of Birch Place, Brough, bought second hand ink cartridges from China, repackaged them to look like quality brands such as Epsom and Canon, and then sold them on to unsuspecting consumers via eBay.
He has now pleaded guilty to the long-running fraud, which netted him £36,000, after trading standards officers raided his home and seized his computers as part of a long-running investigation.
Colin Briggs, the trading standards manager at the council, said: "We are pleased that Raynor has chosen to plead guilty following a successful and extensive investigation by the trading standards service."
Raynor will be sentenced for his crimes in May.
Earlier this week, trading standards officials helped to bring another eBay fraudster to justice.
Paul Barrett, of Stanley, County Durham, was guilty of bidding on his own items to force up the price.
