Funding has been set aside for a potential town planning job on an aircraft hangar in Bedfordshire.
Town planning company Renaissance Bedfordshire and Bedford Council have joined forces to put aside £100,000 of funding into finding what the best use of the Airship Hangar One in Cardington could be.
The site has just been sold to property development company Bellcross Homes for an undisclosed sum.
Pat Tatton, managing director of Bellcross Homes, told Bedford Today that it was still uncertain as to precisely what form any town planning job would take.
"We have had quite a few enquires from people who have ideas for uses for the hangar, but that's down the road because we have to do it up first which will take a couple of years," it was explained.
Earlier this week, it was reported that town planners have been appointed to draw up a masterplan of new designs for the regeneration.
The famous hangar has been used for film production in the past, with movies including Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow all being shot there.
