People with jobs in town planning in Somerset could be called in to help after it was revealed that plans to develop Frome's town centre have been approved.
Mendip District Council gave the go ahead for the proposals to revamp Saxonvale and Garsdale in Frome, which include building up to 350 new properties and 5,000 square metres of retail space, BBC News reported.
Developments to the roads and car parks are also part of the plans, as well restoring existing buildings.
Damon Hooton, chairman of the town planning committee, told the news provider that the expansion will be very important for Frome.
"I would say this is going to be the biggest development in Frome possibly for the next 20 to 25 years," he stated.
A regeneration project could also be taking part in Lancashire's Rawtenstall after BDP Liverpool confirmed it will look at the redevelopment of the centre to make it a thriving market town.
