Town planner to give university lecture

Town planner to give university lecture
A man who has held a range of senior town planning jobs is to give a lecture to students at Cardiff University.

Roger Evans, who is currently employed as managing director of studio|REAL, will address the issue of sustainable planning at the event, which is due to take place on April 27th 2010 at the Cardiff School of City and Regional Planning.

Professor John Punter, who will be chairing the lecture, said the topic is an important one.

"Urban design is fundamental to adding social, economic and environmental value to our neighbourhoods and ensuring that they are sustainable," he said.

He added that the lecture will give students "the opportunity to learn from an expert practitioner in this field".

The event is free and also open to members of the public.

Earlier this month, the Royal Town Planning Institute called on the government to work with professionals in the sector to ensure future developments are sustainable.
