There is an increasing number of people who are becoming more concerned about investing in funds that would be encouraged by people with environment and sustainability jobs.
According to the head of personal banking at Triodos Huw Davies, there is "an increasing desire to do more with people's money".
He stated that a lot of customers are focusing on more than just interest rates and considering the social and environmental impact of their investments.
However, Mr Davies remarked that while there is an "appetite", more needs to be done to raise awareness of the ethical options available on financial products.
"There will be a number of customers who aren't aware of what is on offer and if they did know that then they would give it serious consideration," he commented.
Earlier this week, Ipsos MORI revealed on behalf of Experts in Responsible Investment Solutions that 73 per cent of people in the UK think banks need to have ethical codes of practices when it comes to their lending policies.
