The London 2012 Olympic Games is likely to create a number of town planning jobs.
One area that has started plans to develop its town centre in preparation for the influx of tourists coming to the UK to attend the tournament is Swindon.
Earlier this week, Swindon Council confirmed that Forward Swindon - the body that was formed to look into town regeneration - will be keeping its eye out for the next business opportunity for the town, the Swindon Advertiser reported.
"I'm sure we will feel the benefit after the Olympics," Bill Cotton, director of economic development of Forward Swindon, told the newspaper.
In the capital, more than 10,000 people will be working on regeneration projects including building the Olympic Park and Olympic Village.
The Olympic Games Legacy Company, which is in charge of the development of the Olympic Park, also confirmed that most jobs in town planning involved with the Games will be needed after the tournament is over, to transform the Park into another entertainment venue.
