People with jobs in town planning in Liverpool are set to prepare for a large-scale job after a commercial property deal was announced.
Yesterday (September 1st 2010), Space North West confirmed it will invest £2.5 million into creating a business gateway at the Liverpool Innovation Park (LIP).
Another £1.42 million investment will be given from the European Regional Development Fund in order to help the operators transform the site.
Improvement works include building an "impressive" reception, a cafe-cum-bistro, landscape gardens, as well as 1,629 square metres of out-of-town offices.
Ashtenne regional director leading the LIP project Wayne Locke said: "The new networking hub will further enhance the Park's offer and its ability to contribute towards growing Liverpool’s Knowledge Economy."
Town planning officers will begin work on the project this month and Space North West hopes that it will be completed by the end of January 2011.
Last month, a £1.2 million deal was signed for property consultants Roy Blackhouse & Co to buy and redevelop a retail park in Liverpool, according to the Place North West.
