A landowner in Lincolnshire has been given a fine after people with jobs in environmental health discovered a build up of rubbish.
Bailfarm Ltd was fined £750 and made to pay costs of £650 by the City of Lincoln Council as a result of letting domestic rubbish accumulate in the back garden of a property the firm owns.
Simon Colburn, environmental protection and anti-social behaviour manger at the local authority, said that the council offered to clean up the rubbish at a fee.
"Unfortunately, we didn't get the co-operation we needed, so carried out the clearing work and successfully prosecuted the company," he stated.
Mr Colburn went on to advise other private firms and landowners to keep their sites "clear of debris and rubbish for the benefit of the wider community".
Earlier this month, Michael Murphy was charged £1,009 by Watford Magistrates' Court for placing his rubbish in a domestic bin store in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
