The landlords at a pub in Coventry have rejected the complaints made by people with jobs in environmental health about the standard of their facility.
In April 2010, environmental health inspectors ordered owners of The Cedars, Coundon, to fit a noise limiting device after it received a number of complaints from local residents about the volume of sound coming from the premises, the Coventry Telegraph reported.
However, Fred and Lisa Fivey refused to respond to the order and continued to breach noise regulations.
As a result, people in environmental health jobs have now called a second hearing, which could result in Mr and Ms Fivey losing their licence.
Speaking with the newspaper, senior environmental protection officer Neil Chaplin said Ms Fivey "wholly failed in her duty to control the volume of music".
Earlier this month, a pub in Eastbourne called the Big Apple was closed after noise consultants issued it with an abatement notice following complaints from local residents, the Hastings Observer reported.
