Professionals with town planning jobs have completed the first phase of Surrey's housing project.
Spelthorne Borough Council is working with A2Dominion New Homes for the Stanwell New Start regeneration project, which is set to cost £50 million.
The initiative will provide 360 new housing units over four phases and the first stage has now been opened.
This consists of the building of 16 houses and 16 apartments for private sale and 11 houses and nine apartments for general needs rent.
David Price, A2Dominion New Home's regeneration director, said "it’s incredibly exciting" that the first phase, which began 12 months ago, has now been finished.
"We are committed to ensuring the successful delivery of this project and are looking forward to progressing Stanwell New Start as we begin work on the next phases," he added.
This comes after Somerset County Council revealed its plans for the construction of the Northern Inner Distributor Road has been given the green light, which could result in more than 900 properties being built.
