Staff in
environmental health jobs have criticised the standard of cleanliness at a hospital in Scotland.
Officials visited Inverclyde Royal Hospital and found that improvements need to be made in the hospital's intensive care unit.
Health secretary Nicola Sturgeon stated that those working in
jobs in environmental health play a large role in the driving up of standards in healthcare.
"This unannounced visit was the second time that inspectors have called at Inverclyde Royal and I'm heartened that they found some improvements had been made," she said.
Ms Sturgeon added that an action plan has been put in place so that the recommendations made by the environmental health officials are followed, after they inspected the hospital on January 18th and 20th earlier this year.
Last month, it was revealed that officials working in environmental health jobs are to check out fish pedicure spa treatments to make sure they do not spread infection.
