Council officials were called upon to help deal with an infestation of the insects in a Clydebank cafe, the Clydebank post reports.
The establishment, within the Clydebank Shopping Centre, was closed for almost a week to deal with the problem.
After being given a clean bill of health due to an
environmental health job, the eatery is now able to reopen to the public.
Other shops in the precinct have denied infestation after customers expressed worry the pest problem could have spread.
Believed to have entered the shopping mall due to the hotter weather outside, the cockroaches were only discovered on one site.
Meanwhile, an Indian takeaway in Leicester was closed down after environmental health officials discovered a cockroach infestation, the Leicester Mercury reports.
Doner Master, on Narborough Road, has been forbidden from reopening until the problem is resolved.
