People in environmental health jobs in Wales have carried out a seminar designed to encourage better health and safety practices at religious organisations in the country.
The conference, entitled Five Steps to Heaven, was organised by the Vale of Glamorgan council and offered tips to more than 50 delegates about how to deal with legislation surrounding issues such as food safety, reports the Penarth Times.
Cllr Hunter Jarvie, council cabinet member for legal and public protection, said: "Our aim is to help responsible individuals in all spheres of life to protect themselves and people with whom they come into contact, with the minimum amount of fuss."
Last month, officials in environmental health jobs with ten separate councils across the Greater Manchester area joined forces to agree a new evaluation system for restaurants and food outlets operating in the area.
Relevant businesses are to be assessed on factors such as contaminations risks, food handling and general cleanliness, reported the Manchester Evening News.
