Inspectors with environmental health jobs were called in to investigate a Blackpool hotel after a number of people fell ill.
Environmental health officers confirmed that more than 30 people have been hit with the norovirus at The Cliffs Hotel on North Promenade.
Blackpool Council revealed that the bug, which causes vomiting, nausea and diarrhoea, spread quickly throughout the hotel, the Blackpool Gazette reported.
Director of The Cliffs Robert Nelder stated that the hotel took action quickly and that the bug was now under control.
He told the newspaper: "Environmental Health came and took samples. It's not something you want to happen, but it can occur and we have done everything we can."
A similar incident occurred at a Hilton hotel in Glasgow last week after 24 guests and 14 members of hotel staff fell ill with a stomach bug, which Glasgow City Council environmental health officers believed to be the norovirus.
