Officials with
jobs in environmental health have praised the owners of Rutherglen Town Hall cafe for their high standards of food hygiene.
According to the Rutherglen Reformer, the establishment has received the Food Standards Agency's (FSA's) Eat Safe award due to its clean conditions.
Following the success of its light meals, snacks and beverages, the eatery now provides catering for weddings - as well as pre-theatre meals for guests.
Members of staff from South Lanarkshire County Council's environmental health division nominated the establishment for the award, which is given to commercial kitchens with exceptionally high standards.
"Food hygiene has always been our number one priority and to be recognised for excellent standards by [the council] is testament to the hard work and diligence that goes on behind the scenes", manager Colin McWilliams remarked.
The Town Hall, which has recently been renovated, now contains meeting rooms and exhibition space available to hire by individuals offering courses and classes to the public.
