Staff in environmental health jobs have praised the effects of the Scores on the Doors scheme in Wokingham.
The initiative sees food outlets make public the results of hygiene inspections carried out by environmental health officers and since its inception two years ago, 87 per cent of the businesses in Wokingham which have been assessed have been given a score of 'good' or higher.
Rosalynd Hale, principal environmental health officer for Wokingham Borough Council, told Get Bracknell: "Since we launched the Scores on the Doors scheme we have worked intensively with those businesses which needed major improvements and most have made great improvements."
She added that public rating system acts as a good initiative for businesses in the area to up their hygiene standards.
Earlier this month, staff in environmental health jobs with Huntingdon District Council awarded the Horseshoe Inn restaurant in Offord Darcy a five-star rating, reported the Huntingdon People.
