People with jobs in environmental health in Essex could be responsible for closing down a dance festival.
The Dance Crusade, held in Thurrock every May, might no longer take place after police officers and environmental health inspectors became worried over the amount of drug taking and dealing at the event.
Other concerns that could lead them to shutting the concert include public urination and violent behaviour, according to the Thurrock Gazette.
Environmental health officer Antony Sprackling said: "From a health, safety and welfare viewpoint this event was the most poorly managed event I have seen."
Thurrock Council's licensing sub-committee are set to meet next Wednesday (September 8th 2010) to discuss the future of the Dance Crusade.
This is not the first festival to be investigated by people with jobs in environmental heath in recent weeks as This is Wiltshire reported that the annual Fieldview festival in Wiltshire has to be overseen by council officers in order to keep it under control.
