An official in an environmental health job has criticised the owners of a controversial pub in Lancashire.
The Residence in Barrowford faced its second licensing review in seven months after 63 complaints were lodged against the nightspot in a six-month period.
Many of the complaints centred around disorderly customers and the persistent playing of loud music, reports the Burnley Citizen.
Carmela Lo Presti, an environmental health officer for Pendle Council, told the review that pub owner Punch Taverns has only pledged to clean up The Residence's act after threats were made against its licence.
The licensing committee decided that the pub could stay open, on the proviso that it closes at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 11pm throughout the rest of the week.
Earlier this month, staff in environmental health jobs with Thurrock Council had a more positive take on a pub in Grays.
They gave The Treacle Mine on Lodge Lane a five-star rating for its food hygiene standards, reported the Thurrock Gazette.
