Residents in Ealing attended a meeting to discuss ideas for its proposed 15-year town planning job.
Earlier this week, more than 100 people turned up at Ealing Town Hall in west London to hear how the local authority plans to regenerate the area, Ealing Today reported.
Called the Local Development Framework, Ealing Council's proposals include plans to create new houses, build community facilities, doing more to protect the environment and create a number of jobs.
Council Leader Julian Bell said: "These proposals are going to affect everyone's life in Ealing for the next 15 years and we want to hear what people think about them."
According to Ealing Today, the first meeting was met with some resistance, after a number of residents spoke against plans to build more than 2,600 new homes in the centre of the town.
There are other meetings to follow including A New Transport Plan for Ealing at the town hall on October 5th 2010 and a New Infrastructure Delivery Plan for Ealing on October 13th at the Oaktree Community Centre in Acton.
