People with
jobs in trading standards in Chester have compiled a list of regulations for the attention of street entertainers.
According to Chester First, members of staff from the local council have outlined a code of practice for buskers in a bid to prevent them breaking the law.
The new guidelines will inform the performers of the consequences if they are found to cause problems or obstructions to shop entrances and thoroughfares in the city centre.
Enforcement action will be taken against those street entertainers who fail to comply with the newly-launched regulations.
Lynn Riley, executive member for community and environment, said: "Our role is to ensure buskers maintain their place in creating a vibrant atmosphere and providing entertainment while staying within the law."
Cheshire and West Chester Council states that all street performers should have basic insurance cover to protect against any damage caused to third parties.
