A West Midlands authority has been praised for its planning services.
Birmingham City Council's e-planning service - known as Birmingham Planning Management - has received the Customer Service Excellence standard from the Cabinet Office for making it easier for members of the public and property developers to engage in the planning process.
Those seeking planning vacancies may be interested to note that the service, which the authority manages alongside Northgate Public Services, allows residents to track the progress of their applications and review decision notices.
Peter Douglas Osborn, planning committee chairman for Birmingham City Council, states: "Effective partnership is all about shared understanding and dedication to improved outcomes."
He adds that the accolade highlights that the council is "well and truly on the road to revolutionising planning services in Birmingham".
People searching for planning vacancies may also be interested to note that Ann Skippers, the newly-named president of the Royal Town Planning Institute, recently unveiled her plans to "champion the value of planning".
