Our yorkshire authority client requires 3 senior transport planners:
The first post is specifically to manage the assessment, development and delivery of a number of “permit parking schemes” – analysing requests and potential priority locations for new schemes to be funded from a “block allocation” of approx. £200,000 per year. Needed in place ASAP for 3-6 months minimum but could be extended to two years and then reviewed (funding for the programme will be in place for at least two years).
The second post is to manage the ongoing design and delivery of an existing three–year programme of cycle infrastructure schemes, again with approx. £200,000 per year to spend. This person would work with two others on cycle –related projects and be needed ASAP (immediately if possible!) for approx. 12 months minimum, we would then take stock and see where we might go from there (at least one of the strands of funding will be in place for five years, giving a high degree of robustness, but we will want to review what sorts of things we want to build in the future
The third post is to manage the feasibility, development, design and delivery of a programme of traffic management / road widening schemes designed to improve on-street conditions for buses. This programme is again confirmed for funding for three years minimum is a five year programme and it is probable that we will want to appoint on a permanent (fixed term ) basis at some point but I would like to explore the use of an agency person for six months or so whilst the programme becomes more focussed. This programme amounts to nearly £2m this year, rising to £3m in three years and staying at that level.
